Ioannis Malathouniadis, a Communication graduate from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTH) and holder of an MBA from the University of Macedonia (UoM), where he wrote the first national thesis on how short-form video ads affect consumer behavior and which characteristics increase sales based on the purchasing behavior of Greek consumers, founded Maverix in 2020, the first short-form video agency.
Maximos Holokolos worked in the food service industry during 2018-19, trying to gather the funds needed to pursue his dream: to get involved in video direction and leave behind his provincial roots. He studied in the Department of Creative Media and Industries in Volos and, from his second year of studies, he started focusing intensively on audiovisual and storytelling, a field that had fascinated him from the start.
In 2020, luck brought him together with Ioannis Malathouniadis. Since then, the two of them have formed a creative "alliance," transforming Maverix into a powerful Creative Agency with collaborations both within Greece and abroad, using innovative and unique content marketing strategies.
Beyond their success in the market, both in Greece and globally, with multinational giants trusting their strategy, they created Maverix Academy, educating hundreds of entrepreneurs across Greece on the power of video marketing through platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube. Maverix Academy has become a reference point for those wishing to develop their skills in the world of "Short Form Video."
Today, Maverix continues to break growth records, both in annual revenue and with the team of 7 expected to triple by 2025, solidifying the company’s position as a leader in the content creation industry.
