Kouloumasis

Dimitris Kouloumasis is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Athens, with a Master's specialization in Polymers from the Department of Industrial Chemistry at NKUA. He has been working as a Chemistry teacher at Leontios School of Nea Smyrni since 2009. He has been a High School Supervisor since 2022. He has served as a Mentor for the Greek delegation at the Chemistry Olympiad. He is a member of the Hellenic Chemical Society (HCS) and has previously served as a member of the Board of Directors of the Education and Chemical Education Department of HCS, as well as the General Secretary of the Attica and Cyclades Regional Section of HCS. He has participated in numerous scientific conferences, activities, and demonstrations, either individually or as the lead teacher with secondary school students (Athens Science Festival, Researchers’ Night at the Demokritos Research Center, Sunday mornings at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Bobo’s Festival, Kids Radio Festival).

He participated in the implementation and presentation of the show “Epic Experiments” on COSMOTE’s YouTube channel, as well as in the science popularization show “What The Fact” as the laboratory supervisor. He maintains a TikTok account as Mr. Chem, with over 186,000 followers, sharing educational content focused on the physical sciences, with the goal of helping young people learn in a fun way. He also participates in adult education seminars on teaching physical sciences through experiments in primary education.

He is the author of three books.
